Street to Home offers both case management and assertive outreach to assist people who are experiencing chronic homelessness, with a focus on physical health, mental health, housing and legal issues. The Alcohol and Drug Program provides supervised withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs that includes education, support and medication. Withdrawal from alcohol and some other drugs often requires medication to avoid the potential harms associated with ceasing alcohol or other drug use.
Karralika Programs Inc. has been operating in the ACT for 40 years, supporting adults and their families in Canberra and surrounding regions through a range of alcohol and drug programs. Karralika provides specialist end to end drug and alcohol services to support the needs of individuals, families and communities.
Recovery Services seeks to bring hope, healing and wholeness to all people adversely affected by alcohol, other drugs and gambling by providing a range of services and support to users, families and significant others whose lives have been affected by drug dependency. This can include group discussions, one-on-one sessions, alcohol and drug education, chapel services, work activity therapy and vocational training.
Arcadia House detox, residential and day programs provide clients with the resources they need to successfully withdraw and abstain from alcohol and other drugs and to assist in developing positive life skills. The service is available to people aged 18 years and over. Participants are required to pay a weekly contribution towards accommodation and meals.
Samaritan House is a 13 bed, crisis accommodation program for men aged between 18 and 65 years. The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located in the north of Canberra. Samaritan House has provided support and accommodation to single men in the Canberra region since 1995 and is the only provider of crisis accommodation for single men in the ACT. Residents are provided with individual rooms with shared showers, toilets, laundry and kitchen facilities, food, computer with internet and telephone, personal hygiene items and social support. Samaritan House charges rent at social housing rates, capped at a maximum of $150 per week. Residents are also provided with case management, working from a person-centred, strengths-based focus.
Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) helps people build lives free from domestic violence and fear. DVCS are passionate about breaking the domestic violence cycle in the Canberra community. For over thirty years, DVCS have been providing emergency and long-term support, advice, domestic violence resources, and services.
Directions Health Services has provided treatment and support to people and concerned others impacted by alcohol, drugs and other addictions for more than forty years. Directions health are a specialist drug treatment service funded primarily by ACT Health and the Australian Government Department of Health.

Safe Haven Belconnen is a warm, welcoming, non-clinical, safe space that people can freely go to if they are experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, mental health concerns, isolation or loneliness and are seeking connection and support. Safe Haven offers another option for people in distress to complement what is currently available through hospital emergency departments and mental health crisis services in a supportive, safe, and comfortable environment. No appointment is needed and services are free.
The Adult Community Mental Health Teams primarily provide services to the residents of their local area. Under the principles of the 'no wrong door' approach, teams will respond to all presentations and facilitate assessment and referral to the appropriate area or service. The Griffin Centre is located in the heart of Canberra’s CBD and has been part of the Canberra community for close to 50 years. During its time it has been home to a multitude of community organizations and cultural groups including Canberra’s first Aboriginal health center, stamp collectors, the ACT Nudist Club, the Canberra UFO Research Society, and a soup kitchen.
