Naloxone is a medicine used for the rapid treatment of acute opioid overdose. Naloxone has been used by clinicians and paramedics for decades to reverse opioid overdose and, since 2012, when CAHMA launched Australia’s first take-home naloxone program in Canberra, it has been available to members of the community who may witness an overdose. CAHMA has been providing take-home naloxone to the Canberra community for over 10 years, saving many lives.
If you live in the Canberra district and you would like to get your hands on some naloxone, or if you would simply like to know more about this life-saving medicine, then you have come to the right place.
